Casement windows from Bøjsø are like all our other products, made of very high quality and designed for the rough Danish climate. The casements, glazing bars and exterior part of the frames are made from Siberian larch, which has a unique durability and is virtually knot free. The internal part of the frame is made from good quality knot free pine.
Due to higher energy requirements and ongoing development of our glazing bar profile, our famous 42mm traditional glazing bar has been discontinued and replaced by a 19mm simulated glazing bar. We have developed a system so that not only is the glazing bar stuck on but also mortised into both casement and glazing beads which ensures that the glazing bar can’t fall off.
CASEMENT WINDOWS FOR NEW AND PERIOD HOUSES
The elegant narrow glazing bar is suited for both new houses as well as period houses.
Casement windows are energy rated ‘C’ in accordance with current regulations. Casement windows can be made as side hung, top hung, top guided or as a reversible window. Side hung windows can be supplied with ‘easy clean’ hinges which allows cleaning of the exterior from the inside.
Glazing bars come in 19mm, 25mm or a 54mm bar. The bottom glazing bead can be supplied in either word or powder coated aluminium.
The windows can be supplied with trickle ventilation.
Couple windows which are energy rated ‘A’ and ‘B’ are highly recommended as an alternative to casement windows. Read more about our coupled window.
